Beryl Beaupre
- Biography I am currently an animation student and have recently
completed the 2D and 3D animation program at OUC University in
Vernon, British Columbia. I have found a growing passion for the
combination of computer and my artistic abilities. A few of my first
experiences with art were truly a form of play as was trying to
master figurative art. Creating and designing paper
dolls and their fashions were the rage in pre school and pre
adolescent years. In my early years, landscape and still life, did
not interest me quite as much as the challenge of faces and figures.
During my teens and early 20’s, the financial rewards for commissioned
work and art fads of the Northern Manitoba area were provided from
the community, my grandfather’s fur store.."Rodger's Furs", and Daphne Beavon or
“ODJIG’s” than former gallery, (The Washa Gallery),in
Winnipeg, Manitoba. I have participated in many different types
of shows and have received recognition through numerous awards and
scholarships. During my thirties I finally managed to pursue a BFA
in Fine Arts and continued to paint and create. Since 1998 I have
been using the computer to further my interests in enhancing my
expression as an artist and my marketable talents. My film
experience was a project that looked at urban north end of Edmonton,
which was broadcast on live television. Another was participation in
a workshop at an annual film festival. Continuing to study animation
and live action film to this date, I was part of the crew
for a short film production that is currently taking place in the
Okanogan valley. If you have a spare 27 minutes, please check out the short movie (Tomorrow's
Memoir) on IFilm:
Foreseeing the growth in the animation industry, I
have chosen to focus my many versatile talents towards the animation
and computer industry, with a sub focus of building an interesting
web site and in the mean time supporting myself as an HS/RCA. Much thanks to Raymond Baily , my instructor, especially
for his patience. |

This is my
confession, so other artist don't feel so embarrassed sold my first
painting when I was 13, probably a nude on black velour, or perhaps
it was a papoose on brown velour paper or even native faces on moose
hide laced onto a willow hoop from my grandfathers store, ROGERS
FURS in The Pas. I've even painted pictures on GOLF BALLS
about 30,000 of them. I have approached art seriously, for a while,
and have won a some awards and scholarships. That info can be found
in my art resume.
My latest work has
been paintings of family heirloom photographs , wolves themes and
people of the Nisga'a Nations. The works that I have managed to
photograph can be seen on the Gallery page. More will be added when
I get a scanner. I can say I've been painting for over 30 years, but
not steady. Every once in a while I stop and do something
different.(Aug 2004 entry)I am doing my practicum for a Home Support/Resident Care Aide the same thing as the title nurses aid, years ago.
